To strengthen our ISCC EU team, we are looking forward to welcoming you as a Sustainability Manager – Biomass Fuels at our headquarters in Cologne.
In this role, you will play a key part in developing and advancing ISCC’s sustainability and certification framework for biomass-based fuels, with a particular focus on biogas, biomethane, and bioLNG. You will support and further strengthen the ISCC EU certification scheme, including traceability, chain of custody, and greenhouse gas (GHG) aspects, in line with the overarching principles of ISCC EU and related regulatory requirements, while working closely with internal teams, auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders.

Your main duties will be:
- Developing and refining ISCC principles, criteria, and indicators related to biogas, biomethane, and bioLNG value chains
- Monitoring, interpreting, and assessing relevant legislation and market developments affecting biomass fuels
- Analysing global and regional market needs and identifying opportunities for system optimisation and further development
- Strengthening internal expertise on biomass fuel supply chains, including mass balance systems, traceability approaches, GHG calculations, and auditability
- Initiating, organising, and participating in stakeholder consultations, technical working groups, and industry dialogues
- Developing and delivering ISCC trainings on certification requirements for biogas and biomethane supply chains
- Engaging with regulators, competent authorities, and policymakers to support consistent interpretation and recognition of ISCC requirements
- Developing and updating system documents, audit procedures, and guidance materials for certified companies and auditors
- Contributing to the integrity program by supporting risk assessments, conducting plausibility checks, and evaluating certification patterns in biomethane markets
Additional duties can include:
- Representing ISCC at external events, conferences, and industry forums
- Supporting the organisation of stakeholder meetings, webinars, and thematic workshops
- Contributing to communication materials such as newsletters, website content, and technical updates related to biomass fuels
